After a shock defeat, Iowa guard Caitlin Clark collided with a fan, but she is well.

College basketball star Caitlin Clark is fine after being "absolutely hammered" by a fan rushing onto the court during the Ohio State Buckeyes' celebration of an upset win over the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The incident occurred at Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio, after a 100-92 overtime defeat, where Clark scored a season-high 45 points.

Clark, attempting to exit the court quickly, was blindsided by a fan running onto the court, resulting in both falling to the ground.

The collision raised concerns about the safety of players during postgame celebrations.

Buckeyes coach Kevin McGuff apologized to Clark and the Hawkeyes, acknowledging security measures were in place but the student managed to beat them.

Hawkeyes coach Lisa Bluder expressed disappointment with the lack of postgame protection for her players, emphasizing that players should be safe as they leave the court.

Despite the incident, the Buckeyes outshot the Hawkeyes and secured the upset victory.

With her 45 points in the game, Clark is now 42 points away from the No. 3 spot on the women's basketball all-time scoring list.
