Angel Reese objected to double standards in Ja Morant coverage.

LSU basketball player Angel Reese pointed out the double standards of Barstool Sports in their coverage of Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant in a Jan. 2 exchange on the platform X (previously known as Twitter).

Reese, 21, cited a tweet from the entertainment account Say Cheese! that included two screenshots from the Barstool Sports account.

The first screenshot was a photo of Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers making gun gestures after scoring a touchdown.

"Quinn Ewers is having fun," the account captioned the video. In the second, Barstool Sports posted a photo of Ja Morant performing the same move

It was a stark contrast to the social media account, and it was not the first time Barstool Sports used a double standard in its coverage.

Reese stated "lol i've seen this before...." in her quote tweet, referring to the publication's treatment of her during the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

The account had quite different opinions regarding Iowa's Caitlin Clark and Reese at the time, despite the fact that both were celebrating major plays and wins with lighthearted taunting toward other players.

While the Iowa players received mostly positive feedback from the publication, the LSU athletes received negative feedback, including being referred to as "villains" by Barstool Sports.
