Keanu Reeves recalls giving Francis Ford Coppola magic mushrooms.

Keanu Reeves once gave director Francis Ford Coppola magic mushrooms as a birthday present.

"I gave Francis Ford Coppola some mushrooms for his birthday once," the 59-year-old actor revealed on the Inside Of You Podcast with Michael Rosenbaum. "While we were doing Dracula."

Reeves appeared in Coppola's 1992 vampire romance Bram Stoker's Dracula opposite Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, and Anthony Hopkins.

"I heard it was his birthday, and I happened to have an eighth of some mushrooms, so I gave it to him," said Reeves.

When asked how Coppola reacted, John Wick replied, "He took them! I'm not going to... He had a wonderful birthday. He stated that he enjoyed them."

Reeves joined his Dogstar comrades, drummer Robert Mailhouse and vocalist Bret Domrose, on the program.

The group released their first album in 23 years, Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees, earlier this year.

Reeves and Mailhouse, who met in 1991, founded the Los Angeles-based band. Gregg Miller, the group's original lead guitarist and vocalist, joined them in 1992.

Their debut album, Our Little Visionary, was released in 1996, followed by Happy Ending in 2000.

The grunge band first went by the moniker Small Fecal Matter, then BFS, before settling on Dogstar.
