NFL Rumors: Jim Harbaugh's Chargers hire could lead to Colin Kaepernick's comeback.

Jim Harbaugh's hiring by the Los Angeles Chargers could have significant implications for a specific former NFL star: Colin Kaepernick.

Kaepernick hasn't played since 2017 and is said to be pushing for a return to the NFL after taking a knee.

Several teams have expressed interest in him, and he has worked out for them in the past, but he has yet to be signed or even come close.

Harbaugh's return may potentially affect the situation.Harbaugh drafted Kaepernick in 2011.

During the early days of Kaepernick's collusion-fueled banishment from the NFL, Harbaugh spoke on PFT Live and declared that Kaepernick could bring multiple championships to an NFL team.

He admires Kaepernick and had contemplated employing him to work with quarterbacks at Minnesota when he was interviewing for the head coaching position:

Two years ago, Harbaugh (as reported by PFT) was considering bringing Kaepernick to Minnesota as quarterbacks coach if he was hired.

He has only recently been hired by the Los Angeles Rams, but his relationship to the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback is strong, and this could be his final chance to return.

Colin Kaepernick has been working hard to return to the NFL, which looked impossible.

He's significantly older and hasn't played football in seven years. Nonetheless, he pursues his desire and works out.
